This picture was taken right before my aunts funeral. I am the one on the
right. Then my sister Dori, Aunt Selma and her hubby Uncle Eddie. It is nice
to see a picture of people you know over the net. Now you know the rest of
the story LOL Bren

(CS4U) He Forgets!

He Forgets!

No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
Jeremiah 31:34

This phrase at the end of Jeremiah 31:34 is amazing. The God who is omniscient – the One who knows all – decides to forget some of the stuff He knows. That's the great news at the heart of this new covenant: God promises to remember our sins no more.

What are some of the things in your life you hope God might forget? Choices you've made? Places you've stepped backward, when you felt God called you to step forward? Words you've spoken that you can't take back? Shameful memories of failure, weakness, or unfaithfulness?

When we confess our sins we are saying, "God, I know You think of this as sin. I want You to know I do as well. This wasn't anybody else's fault or a little slip or 'just me being me.' This was me trying to be You – trying to be god of my own life, maker of my own rules. And that's sin."

The great news of the new covenant introduced in Jeremiah 31 is God chose to forget and forgive our sin. We praise Him because He knows, because He rules, because He judges, because He loves, because He is, and because... He forgets! Imagine that.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I am sorry for the times that I tried to be You – tried to be god of my own life, maker of my own rules. Thank You for sending your Son Jesus Christ to die for my sins and to rise again victorious over sin, death and the evil one. Thank You for forgiving my wickedness and remembering my sins no more. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to live for You and honor You in all I do, say and think. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen

(CS4U) Using What God Gave You

Using What God Gave You

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
Romans 12:6

God deserves your best. He expects you to make the most of what He has given you instead of worrying about what you do not have, or coveting the abilities of others. When you attempt to be what you are not, it is like forcing a square peg into a round hole. Not only does it require a bigger hammer, it is also a waste of time, talent and energy. Make a list of what you are good at and what you are not. Listen: "try to have a sane estimate of your capabilities" (Romans 12:3). Involve others. Tell them you are searching for the truth, not fishing for compliments. Ask yourself: where have I seen fruit in my life that others have confirmed? John Maxwell says, "If you think you are called to be a leader, look over your shoulder. If nobody's following, you are just out for a walk." But be careful; "ability inventories" are limited because they do not take into account your uniqueness. There are very few detailed definitions of spiritual gifts in the Bible. Actually, the more mature you become the more likely you are to manifest the characteristics of several gifts. You may be serving or teaching or giving generously out of maturity, rather than because "it is your spiritual gift." The best way is to experiment; do not try to figure it out - just start where you are. You discover your gifts by getting involved. You will never know what you are good at until you try!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, It is in YOU that I seek my identity, knowing that you created me to be me and have, by your grace and mercy, made me into something that only you can do! In Jesus' Name, Amen

(CS4U) Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
Psalms 69:30

An elderly man shared that when he was growing up, drought ravaged their family farm. They prayed for rain that never came. His Dad, who normally harvested 100 wagon loads of corn, reaped only a half-wagon full. The man said, "I'll never forget it. His calloused hands holding ours as he looked up and prayed, 'Thank you Lord, I've lost nothing. I've regained all the seed I planted in spring.' While other farmers were saying, 'We lost 90 or 100 loads,' my father told me, 'Never count the might-have-beens or you will be defeated. Never look at what you have lost, only look at what you have left.'" Good advice!

The Psalmist said, "Praise ... God ... and ... glorify him with thanksgiving," because gratitude has: a) driving power. Paul says, "Thanks be to God, who always leads us in victory..." (2 Corinthians 2:14). Thanksgiving helps you make the hard decisions. It gives you courage to believe against all odds b) reviving power. Listen: "...Don't ever stop thinking about what is ... worthy of praise ... And God, who gives peace, will be with you" (Philippians 4:8-9). Stopping regularly to recall God's goodness restores your perspective and strengthens you c) striving power. Gratitude gives you the oomph to move ahead. Paul could "press on" because his goals included knowing Christ (see Philippians 3:14), preaching in Spain (see Romans 15:24), seeing a lost world saved (see Romans 10:1). What goals are you striving for? d) Arriving power. When you reach your destination you will find you have developed selflessness and humility. That's because gratitude's nothing more than telling God and those around you, "Thanks. I could not have done it without you!"

Prayer
Heavenly Father, this Thanksgiving Day there is so much to be thankful for, most of all that I have salvation in You and my eternality all planned out for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen

(CS4U) Fwd: Fw: Good Morning, Paul

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you
have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed
are those who have not seen and yet have
believed."
                (John 20:29 *NKJV )

Dear Paul,
   Not seeing and still believing is what being a true
Christian is all about.  After all being a Christian means
that we should;
walk by faith, not by sight.
( 2 Corinthians 5:7 )

   Now walking by faith Paul, is believing with
all of your heart, mind and soul that God will Guide you
and Protect you.   Also believing that He is there to
Comfort, Bless and Love you, and knowing that He is
here performing Miracles all over the Earth each and
every day!

   Further, by believing that if you ask God to take control
of your life and will, your life will vastly improve!  It is also
by seeing the beauty that surrounds us in this World, and
how perfectly everything works together, and knowing
that all of this could not have happened by accident!
For;
by faith we understand that the worlds were
framed by the word of God, so that the things
which are seen were not made of things which
are visible.                        ( Hebrews 11:3 )

   No, we can't see God standing on the street corner
touching lives, healing people and caring for them, but
those with faith know that He is there!  So don't ever be
like doubting Thomas, instead know that God is watching
over you right know!

   Therefore Paul, have a wonderful day knowing that
you are in good hands indeed, with God in charge of your
life!   And a big Amen to that my friend!

(CS4U) Fwd: Fw: Happy Thanksgiving, Paul

THE LORD WILL OPEN THE HEAVENS, THE
STOREHOUSE OF HIS BOUNTY, TO SEND
RAIN ON YOUR LAND IN SEASON AND TO
BLESS THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS.
        ( DEUTERONOMY 28:12 *NIV )

Dear Paul,
     It is important today as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving,
 that we remember how truly blessed we are in this Country, and
 that all blessings flow from our Heavenly Father.   So as you
 prepare to celebrate this Holiday, be sure to give thanks to God
 for all of your blessings?

     I am closing this message today with a poem that I hope
 you will enjoy.

AUTUMN IS NATURE'S MASTERPIECE

Autumn is Nature's masterpiece
                 When every tree's aglow;
                 Before the leaves have fallen
                 And the hills are white with snow.

                The bounty of the harvest
                Is a treasure to behold,
                For the fruits of our labor
                Are more valuable than gold.

                There's a change in the weather
                That fills the heart with cheer;
                With the holidays approaching
                In the twilight of the year.

                There's a feeling of Thanksgiving
                That comes to one and all;
                When we count our many blessings
                As the leaves begin to fall.
                                           Poet: Clay Harrison

     Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and may God Bless You!

(CS4U) Fwd: Fw: Good Morning, Paul

 An anxious Heart weighs a man down, but a kind word
 cheers him up.
                       ( Proverbs 12:25 *NIV )

Dear Paul,
   It is important for a Child of God to be very careful
of the words we speak!   For our Savior Jesus Christ said;
Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him,
rqther it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean.
                                                                         ( Mark 7:15 )

   It is also written; With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father,
and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.  My brothers,
this should not be.                                      ( JAMES 3:9-10 )

   So Paul, choose your words carefully and remember
that positive words bring positive results, while negative words
always bring negative results!  After all;
pleasant words are like a
honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
                                                                      ( Proverbs 16:24 )

   These verses bring to mind a sign posted on the wall of a
Professor of mine, many years ago.  I will never forget it, for it
so perfectly described him.  It read as follows:

              Be careful of the words you speak,
              And keep them soft and sweet!
              For you never know from day to day,
              Which words you'll have to eat!

(CS4U) Gratitude

Gratitude

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Paul was in prison when he wrote: "In everything give thanks..." He understood that gratitude is a life-changing, happiness-inducing choice you make each day. If you do not, you miss the joy of high altitude living. Simply put - gratitude is the attitude that sets the altitude for living. Unfortunately, there is a kind of low-altitude life that too many of us settle for. It is an approach that grovels, complains and tries to get by under the radar of hope. It is a down-and-dirty, cloudy, damp, depressing, ungrateful, complaining, negative sort of living! And we have all been there. But there is another kind, a high-altitude attitude kind, up where the air is clean, the sun is shining and the future is as bright as the promises of God. This life soars above and refuses to focus on the negative. If you have ever flown up there, you know it is where you want to spend each day. Matthew Henry, the famous Bible scholar, lived that way. More than 250 years ago he wrote these words in his diary after he was robbed of all the money he had in the world: "First, let me be thankful because I was never robbed before. Second, because although they took my purse, they did not take my life. Third, that although they took my all, it was not much. Fourth, because it was I who was robbed, not I that did the robbing." What a winning attitude! Since thankfulness is a choice, answer this question: "Am I a thankful person?" If you do not like the answer - do something about it!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for the little I have that you can and will do great things with! In Jesus' Name, Amen

(CS4U) Taking The Pressure Off!

Taking The Pressure Off!

They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
Matthew 23:4

You can demand perfection in others only when your own perfection is complete. Ouch! Stop expecting more out of people than they are able to give! Continued pressure causes relationships to collapse. We all need the freedom to be who we are. That does not mean we do not need or want to change, but we do not like people giving us the message, even subtly, that we must change in order to be "in." We are more likely to change for those who are willing to accept us with our flaws than for those who expect us to live by their rules and regulations. One thing is for sure, God will not change the people we are trying to change; He has a "hands off" policy. We must get out of His way and allow Him to work! Even when we think we are hiding our disapproval, people still feel it. It is in our voice and body language. Prayer is the great change agent, not pressure! If we truly love people and pray for them, God will work. Many of those who irritate us are simply being themselves; their personality just does not mesh with ours. Sometimes we want others to change when actually we need to change. Often the things we need in other people are already available for us to enjoy, if we will just stop judging them. For change to be lasting it must come from the inside out, and only God can affect that kind of change. So, who do you need to take the pressure off today?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, only in you can people really change – if you deem it needful. Help me get out of the way and let you do what you do, so I can get focused on doing what it is you called me to do. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Re: (CS4U) Re: Valee is sick
