and have them pass it on so we can reach anyone who may be affected....you never know when
someone will be dealing with it. They are trying to raise awareness and fight Niemann Pick  with

Video Project for Niemann-Pick Disease 2011

Posted: 20 Jan 2011 03:26 PM PST

This year we are preparing a video series with our partnership with Cisco, the makers of the Flip Camcorder . Over the next few months we will be reaching out to families affected by Niemann-Pick Type C and Niemann-Pick disease as a whole and will be taking applications for the program.

Flip CamcorderHaving a horrible disease such as Niemann-Pick Disease, families are limited with the amount of time they have with each loved one. Now this can vary between Types A, B, C/D but the overall feeling is you as a loving parent would like to capture memories that can last forever. The reason we will take applications is we will be giving each applicant (we are still determining how many Flip's we will give away) the Flip Camcorder to record their memories. In exchange for the Flip Camcorder we will ask that you share some video/ pictures with us for our awareness projects for Niemann-Pick Disease.

The Niemann-Pick Children's Fund's whole goal besides helping raise money for research and etc is to bring awareness to this rare fatal disease. One of our recent videos we put together netted us from social sharing online a large donation. We hope over the course of the year coupled with several video projects that we can help bring money into the disease to be used effectively. We are all in this together no matter what the name of the organization is.

If you are a parent of an affected individual please contact us at info @ npcfund . org. We will be working on completing the application form online shortly.

Check out our resources page for additional websites regarding Niemann-Pick Disease. Go here for additional information about Niemann-Pick Type C disease.

(CS4U) A Great Prayer

Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time...

Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares

Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together

Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

Working for God on earth doesn't pay much......but His retirement plan is out of this world!

READ: James 2:1-9

If you show partiality, you commit sin. —James 2:9

His face was grimy, his hair long and dirty. Beer stained his clothing and perfumed the air around him. When he stepped into the church building, the Sunday worshipers ignored him. They were stunned when the man approached the pulpit, took off his wig, and began preaching. That's when they realized he was their pastor.

I don't know about you, but I tend to be friendly and shake hands with the people I know and those who pre-sent themselves well.

James issued a serious warning for people like me. He said, "If you show partiality, you commit sin" (2:9). Favoritism based on appearance or economic status has no place in God's family. In fact, it means we have "become judges with evil thoughts" (v.4).

Fortunately, we can guard against preferential treatment by loving our neighbor as ourselves—no matter who our neighbor may be. Reaching out to the homeless man, the hungry woman, or the heartbroken teen means we "fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture" (v.8).

In a world that keeps the outcast at arm's length, let's show the love of Christ and embrace the one who needs our care the most. —Jennifer Benson Schuldt

Forgive me, Lord, for prejudice—
Remove its subtle lie;
Oh, fill my heart with Your great love
That sent Your Son to die. —D. De Haan

True Christian love helps those who can't return the favor.

Distracted from God's Purpose

In His Presence: Whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ (Philippians 3:7).

Another distraction is position—everybody wants to be somebody. When you accepted Christ you became somebody, but if you are seeking position independently of God's purpose, you have been duped by the deceiver. Your name may be up in lights today, but years from now people won't remember your name. Remember the apostle Paul was quite a man in his day and age, but he said that his claim to fame was only that he was a bondservant of Jesus Christ.

People also become distracted from their purpose when they spend their lives living for other people. People are very important to God; we are to serve, love, and minister to people. But pleasing God is more important than pleasing men. God wants us to live for Him and His glory, and to do that we must sometimes go against what other people want. When it comes to fulfilling our calling, what matters is what God wants us to do.

Another distraction from moving forward in God's purpose is dealing with the past. Paul said: "I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I d forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). We all have regrets, but Paul said we are not to allow our yesterdays to determine our tomorrows. Instead of living with a rear-view mirror mentality, we should focus on the windshield and the big picture that is in front of us.
