(CS4U) Accountability

Accountability

"Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load."
Galatians 6:4-5

We humans are masters at passing the buck. Why? Because passing the buck is easier than fixing, and criticizing others is so much easier than improving ourselves. So instead of solving our problems legitimately (by doing the work required to solve them), we are inclined to fret, to blame, and to criticize, while doing precious little else. When we do, our problem, quite predictably, remain unsolved.

Whether you like it or not, you (and only you) are accountable for your actions. But because you are human, you'll be sorely tempted to pass the blame. Avoid that temptation at all costs.

Problem-solving builds character. Every time you straighten your back and look squarely into the face of Old Man Trouble. You'll strengthen not only your backbone but also your spirit. So, instead of looking for someone to blame, look for something to fix, and then get busy fixing it. And as you consider your own situation, remember this: God has a way of helping those who help themselves, but He doesn't spend much time helping those who don't.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, Give me the courage and the wisdom to accept responsibility for my actions. Help me to honor you with my thoughts, prayers and behavior. Empower me to remain faithful, obedient and available to Your Holy Spirit. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen

(CS4U) Personal Growth - Part 2

 Personal Growth – Part 2

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
Proverbs 4:7-8

Be teachable. The famous American football coach John Wooden said, 'What counts, is what you learn after you know it all.' That is because the more you learn, the less you think you have to learn. When that happens you become un-teachable! Never stay satisfied with your current accomplishments. The greatest enemy of tomorrow's success is today's success. Thinking you have 'arrived' because you accomplished certain things is fatal! It takes away your desire for continued growth. Successful people do not sit back and rest on their laurels. They know that wins, like losses, are temporary. They understand that they have to keep growing if they want to stay productive. Some things get you to the top, other things keep you there. You must stay hungry. Refuse to settle in the comfort zone or let success go to your head. Enjoy it briefly, and then move on to greater things. Become a continual learner. A university study done a few years ago found that almost one-third of all physicians were so busy working, they were two years behind in the latest developments in their field. Heaven help their patients! If you want to be a continual learner, you must carve out time to do it! Henry Ford said, 'It has been my observation that successful people get ahead during the time other people waste.' Carry your Bible, iPod and CDs when you travel. Seize every opportunity to keep growing. The secret to becoming a learner is to learn something new every day! Listen, "get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you."

Prayer

Heavenly Father, there is so much new out there to learn, keep me motivated to continue to learn and grow. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Dear Computer Lady,
I have Emsisoft Anti-Malware program installed on my computer.
Whenever an online update is available, the update process took
quite a while to download the update termed as "Additional
Signatures".
Could you please explain what is "additional signatures" in this
case.
Thanks! Liew
Dear Liew,
Antivirus (and antimalware) programs use a signature to identify a
virus on your computer. Usually the signature consists of a file
name or contents of a file that is unique to that virus or malware.
New viruses and malicious programs are released every day, and any
good security program will downloaded updated signatures on a daily
basis.
To keep your Anti-Malware program protecting you from all the newest
dangers online, it is best to download and install those updates
whenever they are available.

Hello Computer Lady,
You have given so many wonderful tips on using the computer.
I have a question: A box comes up and says "Logon to Pop.atty.yahoo.
com" then says User name and Password.
I put every password and user name I have and none of these works.
Would you please tell me how to go to pop.atty.yahoo. I have tried
everything I know.
Thank you. Gloria
Dear Gloria,
From your description, it sounds like you have an email program on
your computer that is trying to download your yahoo.com email
messages. I'm guessing that at some point, you or someone else
started setting up your email in this program.
The username and password you need to put into the box, is your
email username (the part of your email address before the @ symbol)
and your email password.
If you don't know what your email password is, you will have to
contact the email provider (yahoo.com in your case) and they will
either give you your password, or reset it to a temporary password
for you.
If you have no desire to download your messages to your hard drive,
and usually check your messages using your web browser (Internet
Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome for example) then you don't need to
fill in the user name and password.

Dear Computer Lady,
Hi,  Love your newsletter and always learn better ways to be a
"happy user".
My question concerns pdf files and how to create them to send via e
mail.
I use Outlook Express.
Thank you, Pat in Mobile, AL.
Dear Pat,
PDF files (PDF stands for Portable Document Format) are usually
created in a program called, Adobe Acrobat. The reason so many
people like to create PDF files is because Adobe gives away a free
program to read PDF files called Adobe Acrobat Reader, and almost
everyone had the Reader program installed on their computer.
While Adobe gives away the Acrobat Reader program, it makes money
selling the program used to create PDF files (over $400). For many
businesses, that is an affordable program, but for the rest of us,
there are some less expensive options.
Many people use a "Print to PDF" type of program, there are several
free ones available online. Once you have installed this type of
program, you would create your document in any program that you
want to on your computer. To save it as a PDF file, you would click
on "Print" and then select the Print to PDF program as your printer.
I create many PDF files using a desktop publishing program called,
"Page Plus". It is a desktop publishing program made for creating
things like posters, flyers, and different types of cards. Once I
have created my document in PagePlus, I just click on "File" in the
menu bar, then click on "Publish as PDF".
Once you have created your PDF file, you can attach it to any email
message, just like you would attach any other file. I don't have
Outlook Express on my computer, but I do have directions that would
be similar on my website.

"Share:" Click on the word, "Photo" on that line.
(Illustrations are included online at: http://wp.me/pwwRq-Z5)
Three options will appear, Upload a Photo, Take a Photo, and Create
an Album. You want to click on "Upload a Photo".
A dialog will appear, click on the button that says, "Choose File"
When you click on the "Choose File" button, Windows Explorer will
open. Click on the folder that contains your pictures, and click on
a picture to select it. Once you select your picture, click on the
"Open" button in the lower right corner of the window.

Discover yourself to reclaim your destiny

Meditations for your quiet moments

God Will Never Turn His Back on You

For six whole hours, the Son of God was suspended between heaven and earth. And at the height of His suffering on the cross, He cried out in the deep darkness, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" Matthew 27:45–46. For the first time, Jesus addressed His Father as "God". The Father had forsaken the Son. As Judge of the universe, God had to turn His back on His Son, who was carrying the filth of the world's sins, for His eyes are too pure to behold evil. Habakkuk 1:13. If the Father had not turned His back on His Son, He would have to turn His back on you today when you call out to Him in your hour of need. But because Jesus has taken your place, today, you take His place, and you have God's face smiling on you always!

Right now, God's face is smiling on you. His countenance is shining on you. I can stand before you and declare, "The Lord make His face shine upon you." Numbers 6:25–26.

And it is all because Jesus has paid the price for God to never leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5. As Judge, God turned His back on His Son. But as Father, He cried. His heart was broken because Christ was never more pleasing to Him than when He was on the cross. Christ's suffering was a sweet-smelling aroma to the Father. Ephesians 5:2

Do you remember what Jesus said? "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again." John 10:17 If you are a parent, you love each one of your children equally. But when one of them does something special for you out of love, it touches your heart, and you just want to run to him and hug him.

That was what happened at the cross, except that the Father could not embrace His Son. Instead, He had to turn His back on His Son because our sins had to be punished in His Son's body. Beloved, when you cry out to the Father for help today, know that He hears you and will surely help you. Because of Jesus, He will never turn His back on you!

Jesus — King and Lord Over The Storm

Are you going through a dark, difficult moment in your life? Perhaps the storm just rages on with no let-up and you are trembling in fear. You feel that any time now, you may just cave in and go under because you cannot beat this storm.
Be comforted that Jesus sees what you are going through and He always comes to where you are in your darkest hour. He did that for His disciples one stormy night on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus came, walking on the stormy waters, walking on top of the problem that was threatening to overwhelm them. He is indeed the King and Lord over the storms!

When your eyes are on Christ, even though the storms are raging and the winds are blowing, you will know that you are above your troubles and circumstances. When people ask you how you are doing under the circumstances, tell them, "I am not under the circumstances. I am on top of them because my God is above all!"
Don't be fearful. He will come to you walking on the stormy waters. Hear His comforting voice telling you, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
And as you behold Jesus, you become like Him. You will find yourself doing things you did not know you could do. You will, like Peter, walk on water. This happens when you are occupied with the person of Jesus, with His resources, love, wisdom, ability, power and majesty.

My friend, even during the times when you take your eyes off Jesus, He never takes His eyes off you. And when you cry out to Him, He will immediately stretch out His hand to catch hold of you. You will not go under.
There may be times that you are not able to find your way back. Jesus will then hold your hand and walk you back to the boat. And like Peter, you will realize that with your hand in His, the storm will come to a standstill!

Morning Reflections
Article Headline

Deuteronomy 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Thought for the Day: There Is A Purpose To What You Are Experiencing

Reflection for the Day: Your Challenges Reveal Your Heart

As Moses reviewed the path that the Lord brought Israel he explained God's purpose for the route He chose for them. He humbled them to discover what was in their heart. He wanted to know if they would obey His commandments while they endured the challenges they faced. There was a purpose to what they experienced.

As you face the hardships of life do not lose hope. Utilize what the Lord has you to experience as an opportunity for growth. He knows exactly what He is doing and intends to bring you through with a greater knowledge of who He is. Stay focused and be blessed by your journey. There is a purpose to all you experience.

Coping With Loss

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalms 147:3

God understands your grief, especially at anniversaries, birthdays and holidays. He also knows that mourning is an important part of closure. He never promised to keep us from pain and loss; just to bring us through it. Maybe these suggestions will help: 1) Network with others. As part of a group you discover that you are not alone; that mourning is not a sickness or self-indulgence; that sharing with those who understand brings healing. 2) Do not deny your loss. The Bible says, "The memory of the just is blessed" (Proverbs 10:7). When you are around friends do not hesitate to talk about your lost loved one. When you do, you are saying it is okay for them to share their memories too. 3) Expand your 'family.' Solomon writes, "Better a nearby friend than a distant family" (Proverbs 27:10). So if you do not (or even if you do) have family nearby, reach out to caring people who are close at hand. 4) Do not try to do it all. Remember, "There is a time to cry" (Ecclesiastes 3:4). Because grief is so draining you will need more rest than usual. While your ability to function is reduced, let others help with the everyday stuff like cooking, cleaning and shopping until you feel stronger. 5) Take care of yourself. Respect your body by using the acronym DEER (drink, eat, exercise, rest) to help you stay focused. 6) Protect your boundaries. Nobody knows how you feel better than you, so give yourself permission to say, 'No thanks,' or 'I'll take a rain check,' without feeling guilty.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for comforting me in all my sorrows and grief. Thank you for placing people around me that you can work through to help me. In Jesus' Name, Amen
