(CS4U) Beyond Anxiety

Beyond Anxiety

"An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up."
Proverbs 12:25

When calamity strikes anywhere in the world, we may be confronted with real-time images, images that breed anxiety. And as we stare transfixed at our television screens, we may fall prey to an assortment of passions-destroying emotions such as fear, discouragement, or worry. But our Father in heaven has other plans. God has promised that we may lead lives of peace, not anxiety. In fact, His Word instructs us, "Do not be anxious about anything" (Philippians 4:6). But how can we put our fears to rest? By taking those fears to God and leaving them there.

As you face the challenges of daily life, you may find yourself becoming anxious. If so, turn every one of your concerns over to your Heavenly Father. The same God who created the universe will comfort you if you ask Him... so ask Him and trust Him. And then watch in amazement as your anxieties melt into the warmth of His loving hands.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, sometimes this world is a difficult place and as a frail human being, I am fearful. When I am worried, restore my faith. When I am anxious, turn my thoughts to You. Keep me mindful that nothing will happen this day that You and I cannot handle together. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen
