(CS4U) Daily Worship - Shine - The Newsboys

Oh, dear, David has a temp job for today.  Guess I have to do the Daily Worship all by myself!  LOL!  Let's shake it up a bit.  Here's a really modern one for you all.   Oh, could you say a little prayer for my Lisa.  She broke her ring finger on her left hand while playing football with her family this weekend!  *sigh*  I thought I raised her better than that.  I told her sports hurt.  She should stay on the sidelines and cheer!  LOL!    Anyway, time to worship!     Shine (Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify  your Father who is in heaven.  Matthew 5:16)   Dull as dirt You can't assert the kind of light That might persuade A strict dictator to retire Fire the army Teach the poor origami The truth is in The proof is when You hear your heart start asking, "What's my motivation?"   And try as you may, there isn't a way To explain the kind of change That would make an Eskimo renounce fur That would make a vegetarian barbecue hamster Unless you can trace this about-face To a certain sign...   Chorus: Shine Make 'em wonder what you've got Make 'em wish that they were not On the outside looking bored Shine Let it shine before all men Let 'em see good works, and then Let 'em glorify the Lord   Out of the shaker and onto the plate It isn't Karma It sure ain't fate That would make a Deadhead sell his van That would make a schizophrenic turn in his crayons Oprah freaks And science seeks a rationale That shall excuse This strange behavior   When you let it shine You will inspire The kind of entire turnaround That would make a bouncer take ballet (Even bouncers who aren't happy) But out of the glare With nowhere to turn You ain't gonna learn it on "What's My Line?"   Chorus   Shine, shine..... Let it shine.....   Shine! Shine!   Chorus Repeat   Shine!     Lord, this is an interesting presentation of Your word, is it not?  But You know, it is still Your word, no matter how loud the music is or how varied the wording.  The commandment is still there that we should shine among men.  Let them see Your light.  Cause them to desire You so that they come to You in repentance and submission.  Lord God, help us be that light.  Help us to live our good works so that others will see You in them.  We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Amen.
