Swim For It!
Chances are you have stood on the banks of an angry river after a heavy rainstorm, and have been struck by the sheer power of its turbulent waters. You watched with fascination the boiling currents raging against a large boulder lodged firmly in the river's path, amazed that the rock is able to resist the powerful flood when huge trees are uprooted and swept away.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge.
Psalm 18:2
Your God is like that rock. As the days become more evil, unsettling events may very well come against you like that raging river. But when they do, remember to swim for the Rock of Salvation, for He alone is able to deliver you. Don't be deceived by slick promises but, by the power of the Almighty, stand firm against the torrent of unrighteousness, boldly giving credit where credit is due.
In today's recommended reading, David gave God the praise for delivering him from all his enemies. As you pray today for the nation, ask the Lord to deliver America from the angry foe seeking her destruction ... and intercede for her leaders that they will seek the Rock of Ages, giving Him His due praise.
