(CS4U) Being a Talker and Not a Doer (1)

Being a Talker and Not a Doer

"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
John 14:12

Imagine doing some of the things Jesus did. Imagine being able to help people in a profound, life-changing way, as He did. You can – Jesus said so. For this to happen, you need to remember that your enemy wants you to be a talker, not a doer.

We have enemies in this world, spiritual forces willing to go to battle to prevent us from effectively ministering to other people. This battle rages continuously. That's why it's so difficult for us to demonstrate the love God calls us to. The last thing our enemies want is for people to be exposed to God's life-changing love. Their fear is that if people see the kind of love God offers, they might start asking questions about how to incorporate that love into their own lives. Make no mistake – this is a battle for souls. The stakes are high, but you hold the keys to victory.

Your opposition wants nothing more than to fill your heart with fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of abandonment. Fear of being taken advantage of. Fear of the messy complications that come from getting involved in other people's lives.

Don't bow to that fear. Don't surrender to the opposition. Remember, the Bible says, "The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself because He knows that through His strength and guidance you can DO IT!

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word promises that if I have faith in You that I can do what You did here on earth. Strengthen my faith so that I can have the boldness and wisdom to overcome the opposition of the world, my flesh and the evil one. Strengthen my faith so that I can be faithful, obedient and available to Your Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen
