Luke 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep thee? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. Thought for the Day: Without Prayer You Will Not Stand Reflection for the Day: Temptation Attacks Everyone, No One Is Immune Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to prepare himself for Calvary understanding the challenge that stood before him. Though his preparation was key, Jesus also took advantage of the opportunity to teach. Placing Peter, James, and John into position he instructed them that without prayer they would fall into temptation. No one is immune from temptation and the challenges it presents. All must learn that without prayer one cannot stand. As we observe Good Friday we recognize there are many lessons to learn. One of the greatest is the necessity for prayer. Every person faces multiple challenges in life with a portion of these coming in the form of temptation. It is essential that we understand that regardless of who we are and how strong we may think we are, without prayer we will fall. Temptation attacks everyone with no one being immune. Follow the example of the Lord and find a place to pray. | | | | | |
