Thank you David for the offer. My friend's fiancee' was here over the week end and he is very computer savy. He did find several issues. I really can't explain all he said but bottom line it would cost too much to really bring it back up to speed. Some drivers are missing, the mouse is broke (those are the very simple things I understood). Antoher problem is very few people have DSL Internet sevice through their land line phone anymore. Most have it run through their cable or satellite service. I have neither and the speed I have is just one step up from the slowest offered. I would be better if ran through cable, etc., but I can't afford to have cable or satellite TV. I know I can hook up a regular mouse. (I have a laptop)..so time will tell. I do know someone who may be buying a new one, so time will tell. I do have it on my phone but can't do as many things that way. So time will tell...thanks again for the offer.
