(CS4U) Who is He to You?

Who is He to You?

"What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" "The son of David," they replied.
Matthew 22:42

One day Jesus climbed a mountain with His disciples. Listen: "Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with [Him]. Peter blurted out, 'Master we will make three shrines - one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah'"(Luke 9:30-33). Peter's intentions were good, but his thinking was off. Three shrines would have made Moses and Elijah equal with Jesus. When God spoke from heaven, Moses the law-giver, Elijah the prophet, Peter the preacher, James the apostle and John the Revelator were all present. But God did not say, "Listen to them." No, He said, "This is my beloved Son: hear him" (Luke 9:35). Jesus knew exactly who He was. When His accusers shouted, "You claim You're the Son of God" He replied, "Yes." (Luke 22:70). He also said, "he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father" (John 14:9). Then He really blew their minds: "I have power to lay down My life - and take it up again" (John 10:18). You can discount Jesus as a phony or worship Him as God, but please do not call Him just another historic figure. C.S. Lewis said: "A [mere] man who said the things Jesus said wouldn't be a great moral teacher. He'd either be a lunatic or the Devil. You can spit at Him, kill Him, or fall at His feet and call Him Lord, but let's not come up with patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher." He is God! So, what do you think about Christ? Is He Lord of your life? He wants to be!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, In Baptism you became Lord of my Life, help me put aside any idols that try and take that spot! In Your Precious Name, Amen
